'Dream today' with Chantily Cream for Megs Garden

Hello everyone. I have been so busy creating since the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo, at my last count I have created 25 projects. Most I can't show you all just yet but I am so happy to share with you today a layered card created for Megs Garden.

Using the Chantilly Cream Papercrafter Pack. This collection of prints will give you all such an amazing assortment of images to create with. I love the neutrals and earthy tones as well as the pops of colour that you can work into your projects. Katrina x
Follow this link to the Megs Garden Blog for all the step by steps:

Start playing with your layering. When you've found a good combination, trim, ink and attach your layers. I found the Antique linen and dried marigold inks both worked well to blend & enhance the image and background.

I've taken the base petal from the cornsilk flowers to wrap around the paper flower and have used some of the stamens from the cornsilk flower to tuck off to the side.

Thanks for looking, until next time,  - 'Dream today' & Happy Creating!! K x

Beach Beauty card by Katrina Thompson

#couturecreationsaus  #ultimatecrafts

Hello everyone.
I am excited to be guest designer today for Couture Creations.

I am creating with the beautiful new Sea Breeze Collection Pack and have
selected one of the fantastic vintage beach beauties to make a layered card.
She is so relaxed and calm so I have kept the card in classic simple layers where she
remains the focus with some beautiful coordinating flowers and a sticker to embellish.

There are a few layers to this card. After the base card I have cut a rectangle from 'The Sea Breeze', then a layer of white cardstock covered in a layer of muslin.
I have then cut the corners of the border frame from a 'A Day Fishing' to frame a smaller rectangle from the top left corner of the same piece.
The vintage image from the 'Beauty' sheet is next, then the sticker and flowers are used to embellish.

The white flowers have been painted with Mica powders, diluted with water. On this flower I have then set a bead into the center.

The sticker has been edged in ink to soften and coordinate, then I have
wrapped thin pieces of muslin around the base of the flowers and sticker.

Thankyou for letting me share with you all. Happy Creating!!

Sea Breeze - Let your dreams set sail.

Hello everyone. Today I am working with the beautiful new Sea Breeze Collection Pack as a Guest Designer for Couture Creations, Ultimate Crafts & Craft Concepts . I've created a page mixing and matching the papers, together with the sticker sheet, netting and some muslin.

I have cut the frame away from, 'A day Fishing' and have
used it to frame 'The Sea Breeze' paper instead.

I have inked the edges of 'The Sea Breeze' piece with Bundled Sage
before attaching it to the new frame which gives some depth.
Draping some dyed muslin under the netting gives you another layer.
Add the banner from 'Navigating at Sea' with a few trims and muslin also.

Select the images from the 'Navigating at Sea' paper and the sticker sheet
that best suit your layout. Fussy cut, ink, distress then layer around your photo.

I have used the large frame from the 'Beauty' sheet as the border for
my photo as it also ties in with the 12x12 border frame.

Loosen your netting and tuck some more muslin to add more layers.

Thank you for looking!

Heart and Soul

I have dinted my pile of 7 dots Nature Walk yet again but just had to make this new card. I have used the word stickers from the Cold Country range, with the saying "You are my heart, you are my soul". It is mothers day here in Australia and this card I have dedicated to my Mum. She is flying with the Angels and will never see this card, so this one is for me to hold onto - heart and soul. K x

Serendipity with 'Imagination'

Hello and Thankyou for visiting my blog today.
I would like to share with you a card I have made using the new Blue Fern, Serendipity range. The sheet I have used is called 'Imagination'.
The chipboard is from Dusty Attic, Spring Blooms #1 and Foliage #2.
I have coordinated with laces and flowers, inks and gesso and a beautiful die from Tonic Studios, the Royal Frame & Butterfly Insert Set. K x

Layering torn vellum between a few of the layers adds a soft effect. It's light so it's not weighing        the card down as well.

Layers of lightweight laces and trims to coordinate. The teal blue scallop was my daughters shirt recycled.

A layer of gesso - dry it - then inked with mustard seed, wild honey, hickory smoke and rusty hinge and sponged with dimensional magic.

Butterfly Kisses - 7 dots

Every once in a while you find a paper that absolutely captivates you.
I used this Nature Walk paper from 7 dots to do some samples for display in one of my local shops. But as we do, I had multiples of my favourite sheets and wanted to make myself a set. While this is similar to the original, the beauty of redoing something is that you can redesign each time.
I found this time around, that the chipboard piece from Dusty Attic -  Corner Flourish #4, gives it a new look and a great body for the butterfly - This is my new take!! K x

'Love' with Rose Quartz

'LOVE' Card - Rose Quartz Collection - Megs Garden

Megs Garden has bought us all a beautiful new range named the Rose Quartz Collection. You can check it out over at  http://megsgarden.com. A beautiful range of pinks and such a variety of images to allow for a varied range of projects. Here is my first project in the range using the card maker pack and all of the coordinating lace and flowers you can purchase at Megs Garden. K

I have first selected a number of images and background papers, a paper rose and the fabric flowers.

I have coloured the thin crochet braid with Victorian Velvet distress ink to coordinate.

Layer the background print onto a white distressed mat, then onto a pink card base.
Add the layers of lace and pearl, overlapping as you go.

Layer the images, tucking and using 3d foam to give a nice variation.
Ink the tips of the white paper rose. Add the flower cluster, 'LOVE' word and phrase to finish.

I have used the Rose Quartz paper craft pack, Antique Cream Lace, Antique Pink Lace, Carabella Rose, French white open rose, Organza Lace Flowers, Pearl trim.

Wish card with Chantilly Cream for Meg's Garden.

Hello everyone. It is very exciting to be sharing with you all, my first DT project for Megs Garden. http://megsgardenblog.blogspot.com.au/2016/02/wish-card-with-chantilly-cream-by.html

All of the beautiful images I have used are from the Chantilly Cream Papercraft Pack and the background print is from the Chantilly Cream Book Kit. A full step by step can be found by following the link above, as well as all of the other beautiful projects from the design team. K x

I have cut the images in the Papercraft pack to use as features on the card.

Gesso the Small Rectangle Parisian Frame then dab with various coordinating inks until you get a desired colour. It will dry a lot lighter as the gesso acts like a resist.

Thanks so much for looking. K
