Cardabilities Challenge #124

This is the card I have created for this fortnights challenge over at Cardabilities.
 Designs are based on sketch #124 below:

A front opening seemed like a nice option with the scallop coming down though the centre.

I have used the Vintage Rose Garden papers from Couture Creations.

Hearts Ease - Couture Creations

I have been creating with the new Hearts Ease range from Couture Creations. The colour palette is beautiful and the dies have been very versatile.

I have used the Scrolled Tomentosa die. By cutting 2 frames and then cutting them in half diagonally you can create the corners. I have done the same again in the yellow but have linked the 4 pieces together to create the larger frame.

Cardabilities Sketch challenge #121

Thought I'd do the Sketch Challenge #121 over at Cardabilities this month for the first time. The design is great and seeing the circular pattern in the centre, I had the beautiful Pion nest print as part of the 'A Day in May' range and based my take on the design around that theme. Blue Fern Studios - Conservatory

Hello all,
I took some inspiration from a beautiful yet eerie storm that passed over the other afternoon, near sunset. I had a 'Conservatory' sheet from the Blue Fern Studios, Sanctuary range. I love the options just one sheet of beautiful paper can bring about and from there I created it's own little world, like a garden in the light of the storm.

Nature Walk

I thought I would share some more of the 7 Dots Nature Walk projects I have completed as I really do love these colours. I made this set for the 7 Dots display at www.bellapaperie.net.au The Prima Bark shapes really complement these colours.

In my secret garden.

I must admit 6 years between posts is a bit extreme and many life events have evolved during this period but my creative side has always been a constant and I am looking forward to sharing projects and events in this forum again.

My first share is a hanging I completed using the amazing http://7dotsstudio.com/, Nature Walk collection. I have layered and embellished a miniature garden with lots of textures and colour shades to complement the beautiful palette of the Nature Walk collection.

There are many layers but as you can see it is not too bulky.

 

The reverse of a project is always as important to me. This is just lightly decorated with the lace and the knots from the handle come through to the back. This leaves lots of room to write a story or messages.

The lace and leaves have been cut and layered to suit the space. The chipboard has been painted with Frayed Burlap distress paint and rubbed over with white paint and then rock candy.

Layers of lace, pearls, metal charms and chipboard frame. I cut the body of the metal butterfly away from the wings then inserted the bark butterfly under the body so the wings form a shadow.

Amongst the layers of lace, the larger flowers and stems have been shaped in 3D. Various flowers and lace stamins have been added to each large flower along with Diamond Dust and Rock candy to give varying shimmers. Additional flowers/leaves and the word stickers have been inked, distressed then inserted into the scene. Bead trimming finishes the lower edge.

Inkurable Stampers Challenge for April

The challenge for this month was a colour challenge using the Inkurable colours of Orange Black and White. http://inkurablestampers.blogspot.com/ My instant thought when thinking of this mix was Halloween, however when you check out all of the entries this month and Sarah's sample piece, the range is diverse and so very creative.

My piece is a canvas card - I like this way of making cards. It's a gift/card, so you can hang it or lean it and the message is on the back. I have used Kaiser Rubons and bling, Paint and Ink for the base, Ribbons and Stamps from PSX, JudiKins and Anna Griffin, then with the charms I have painted, inked and decorated them.
