Heart and Soul

I have dinted my pile of 7 dots Nature Walk yet again but just had to make this new card. I have used the word stickers from the Cold Country range, with the saying "You are my heart, you are my soul". It is mothers day here in Australia and this card I have dedicated to my Mum. She is flying with the Angels and will never see this card, so this one is for me to hold onto - heart and soul. K x

Serendipity with 'Imagination'

Hello and Thankyou for visiting my blog today.
I would like to share with you a card I have made using the new Blue Fern, Serendipity range. The sheet I have used is called 'Imagination'.
The chipboard is from Dusty Attic, Spring Blooms #1 and Foliage #2.
I have coordinated with laces and flowers, inks and gesso and a beautiful die from Tonic Studios, the Royal Frame & Butterfly Insert Set. K x

Layering torn vellum between a few of the layers adds a soft effect. It's light so it's not weighing        the card down as well.

Layers of lightweight laces and trims to coordinate. The teal blue scallop was my daughters shirt recycled.

A layer of gesso - dry it - then inked with mustard seed, wild honey, hickory smoke and rusty hinge and sponged with dimensional magic.

Butterfly Kisses - 7 dots

Every once in a while you find a paper that absolutely captivates you.
I used this Nature Walk paper from 7 dots to do some samples for display in one of my local shops. But as we do, I had multiples of my favourite sheets and wanted to make myself a set. While this is similar to the original, the beauty of redoing something is that you can redesign each time.
I found this time around, that the chipboard piece from Dusty Attic -  Corner Flourish #4, gives it a new look and a great body for the butterfly - This is my new take!! K x

'Love' with Rose Quartz

'LOVE' Card - Rose Quartz Collection - Megs Garden

Megs Garden has bought us all a beautiful new range named the Rose Quartz Collection. You can check it out over at  http://megsgarden.com. A beautiful range of pinks and such a variety of images to allow for a varied range of projects. Here is my first project in the range using the card maker pack and all of the coordinating lace and flowers you can purchase at Megs Garden. K

I have first selected a number of images and background papers, a paper rose and the fabric flowers.

I have coloured the thin crochet braid with Victorian Velvet distress ink to coordinate.

Layer the background print onto a white distressed mat, then onto a pink card base.
Add the layers of lace and pearl, overlapping as you go.

Layer the images, tucking and using 3d foam to give a nice variation.
Ink the tips of the white paper rose. Add the flower cluster, 'LOVE' word and phrase to finish.

I have used the Rose Quartz paper craft pack, Antique Cream Lace, Antique Pink Lace, Carabella Rose, French white open rose, Organza Lace Flowers, Pearl trim.

Wish card with Chantilly Cream for Meg's Garden.

Hello everyone. It is very exciting to be sharing with you all, my first DT project for Megs Garden. http://megsgardenblog.blogspot.com.au/2016/02/wish-card-with-chantilly-cream-by.html

All of the beautiful images I have used are from the Chantilly Cream Papercraft Pack and the background print is from the Chantilly Cream Book Kit. A full step by step can be found by following the link above, as well as all of the other beautiful projects from the design team. K x

I have cut the images in the Papercraft pack to use as features on the card.

Gesso the Small Rectangle Parisian Frame then dab with various coordinating inks until you get a desired colour. It will dry a lot lighter as the gesso acts like a resist.

Thanks so much for looking. K

Peaceful

Hello all, thanks for looking at my newest project. Last year I taught a card class using this beautiful paper from Fab Scraps. It's the Serenity range and the papers are named 'Peaceful'. It made me think of a peaceful garden, so with the left overs I have completed a book cover. The chipboard is the Dusty Attic, 'Vintage Nameplates', which is one of my favourite designs and I thought it fit the papers nicely.

Thanks for looking K x

Spell Book

I still have to name this dark fae beauty, but I have finished playing with her for the moment. A wonderful day was spent in a class with Sue Smyth creating her altered book and I have been adding a few bits before I start the inside. My husband and kids loved it and my husband jokingly asked if it was being prepped for my Spells, so it is now going to be a form of journal. Thanks to Sue for an inspiring day!!
